Confidence is something that builds over time. The misnomer is that you have to do something spectacular in order to gain it.
Actually, it’s pretty easy.
I must admit, I have been on the front end of some really poor decisions….. Okay, maybe that’s a slight exaggeration….. I have made some really dumb and stupid, are-you-kidding-me type decisions!
I never intend to look like a jack-butt when making decisions. No one does. However, the outcome of our decisions can largely be attributed to where we lean for guidance.

If we live truly, we shall see truly. - Ralph Waldo Emerson
I have been to 42 of the 50 states and have driven cross-country four different times. However, I have not done hardly any international travel other than the Cayman Islands, Vancouver B.C., Mexico, and the Bahamas.
There are so many places I would like to visit around the world. I’ve never had the courage to spend the money to go. Places like:

We are afraid of truth, afraid of fortune, afraid of death, and afraid of each other. Our age yields no great and perfect persons. – Ralph Waldo Emerson

Today, my goal is to start a new morning routine. It’s really not so much of a new routine other than I am going to make another valiant effort to stick to my new routine.
The reason why I want to establish a better morning routine is because what I choose to do or not do in the morning really sets the tone for the day. Also, with my new responsibilities of being a father, I realize that “me time” is going to become more and more challenged and I don’t want to cheat my family; so I want to find a way to make the most of every day by living my life on purpose and with balance.
[Okay, to be honest... I just like structure. In my opinion, life functions better with it than without it.]

With all the challenges we experience battling The Resistance when trying to ship our work… at the end, we typically walk away with either one of two thoughts:

You would think after having two degrees (BSBA & MBA)… playing in the NFL… making millions of dollars… rebounding from failure after failure… being completely debt-free… and a solid transition to Corporate America… that I’ve lived a good life?
I have.
BUT…
I just read “No Idling: 30 inspiring stories from those who do the work” the free eBook created by Seth Godin’s Domino Project Street Team in honor of Steven Pressfield’s most recent book Do the Work. Steven Pressfield is the bestselling author of The Legend of Bagger Vance, Gates of Fire and The War of Art. The latter book spawned Do the Work, as readers kept asking, “What is this terrible thing called Resistance — and how can I overcome it?”
What I’ve come to realize from reading this eBook is that it is this thing called ‘Resistance’ has been kicking my butt ass for a long long time!
