For more than fifteen years, dating back to Junior High School, I played organized football—of which the last six were in the National Football League. During this time, I have experienced the thrill of many victories… and the agony of many a defeat. Regardless of the health and safety issues that come with playing the game and the challenges that come when the cheering stops, I firmly believe that sports—especially football—is one of the greatest teachers and preparers for life and a career in business.
As I wrote in another post, anyone who says that sports and business are different… never wore a jock strap.
I have been out of the the NFL for the past eleven seasons, but often I am not asked, “Do you miss playing in the NFL?”
